Course Description:
Students will explore what drives policy and change in government and how it affects their lives. This course emphasizes the United States and Arizona Constitutions. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

Grading:
- Assessment Breakdown:

Assessments and Check-ins will consist 100% of your grade. On retakes, students will receive the highest score out of the two attempts. Students may also opt for an alternative assignment.
- Grading Scale:
- A: 3.2 - 4.0
- B: 2.5 - 3.19
- C: 1.7 - 2.49
- D: 1.00 - 1.69
- F: 0.0 - 0.99
Assignments and Due Dates:
- LATE POLICY: Students will not have points deducted from their assessments. However, students will have one week from when the test was administered to complete and have a grade submitted.
- RETAKE POLICY: Students will have one week after the Unit Assessment has been administered for retakes. Retakes will only be available during office hours on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 or by appointment.

- If the teacher does not respond in 24 hours, please re-send the email, it may have gotten lost in their inbox.

Academic Integrity:
- The first time a teacher determines a student to be cheating; the teacher will give the student an “F” on that test/assignment and notify the parents/legal guardians and administration.
- If a student cheats a second time in a course, the teacher will give the student an “F” on that assignment and notify the administration for disciplinary action.
- If a student cheats a third time in a course, the teacher will give the student an “F” for the semester and refer the student to the administration for disciplinary action.
- Cheating prohibited. Plagiarism is a form of cheating.
- Accommodations:
- Students with special needs and accommodations will be held responsible for advocating for their needs to the best of their ability.
Classroom Expectations:
- Teacher:
- Teacher will have Assessments and Assignments graded within 5 school days from the date the test was given.
- Mr. Moya is expected to be patient, respectful, have empathy, provide fun lessons, provide feedback, be interactive, and be silly.
- Students:
- Are expected to have their phones away and can listen to music when they are working on independent work. Students are expected to not use their phones or earbuds during active instruction.
- Students are responsible for their use of phones and agree only to use one earbud during independent work time.
Disclaimer:
Mr. Moya has the right to change and modify the curriculum as necessary. Mr. Moya also has the right to receive gifts from students and not give extra credit which may include, but are not limited to: Gansitos, Corgis, Avocado Plushies, Cherry Pepsi, Dutch Bros. Coffee Gift Cards, or an all-paid expense trip to San Diego for a golf vacation. Mr. Moya finally has the right to change his favorite students based on assignment completion, class participation, and overall just because he can.
